Privacy Policy
This policy is written to match what the Burnix app actually does — what it stores, who processes it, and how you can delete it.
Who we are
Burnix is a fitness and nutrition app operated by Nortiva (nortiva.org), based in Ferizaj, Republic of Kosovo. This policy describes what data the app collects, why, which service providers process it, and how you can delete it.
For privacy questions and data requests, email privacy@burnix.app. To report a security vulnerability, email security@burnix.app.
Nortiva’s registered address is Sali Çeku Street, No. 153, Ferizaj, Republic of Kosovo.
Data we collect
All of the data below is tied to your Burnix account (a Firebase Authentication user ID). Burnix creates an anonymous account for you automatically, so you can use the app without registering.
- Account and sign-in. If you link an account, Firebase Authentication stores your email address (email/password sign-in) or the identity shared by Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In. Your email address is not copied into any other Burnix record.
- Profile and onboarding. Display name, date of birth, height, weight, target weight, training goal, experience level, available equipment, an injury-limitations flag, body focus regions, training style, and your theme and language settings. Gender presentation is a visual customization choice only — biological sex is never collected.
- Nutrition profile. Age, weight, height, activity level, nutrition goal, dietary preference, allergies, and your selected meal plan.
- Workouts. A log for each completed workout: the session, completion time, duration, which exercises you completed, your position in a program (week and day), and your difficulty and energy self-ratings.
- Nutrition logs. Calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fat for each entry you log, together with its source and label.
- Body progress. Weight entries, tape measurements, free-text notes, and optional progress photos.
- Social and achievements. A game profile (display name, level, total XP, and visibility flags), an XP event history, achievement activity timestamps, friendships, and challenge records including per-player scores.
- Support. The messages you send to support and the status of each support conversation.
- Notifications. Device push tokens (with platform, app version, and last-active time), your notification preferences — including the marketing “Offers” toggle — quiet hours, and timezone.
- AI coach. The messages you send to the coach, a fitness context snapshot, and the coach’s responses (see “AI coach” below).
- Device and diagnostics. The app includes Google Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance Monitoring, which initialize automatically and collect device identifiers, app-instance identifiers, crash reports, and performance measurements.
Progress photos
Progress photos are stored privately in your account’s own storage area. They are visible only to you in the app — never to other users, challenge opponents, or the support team.
What other users can see
- Leaderboard. Your leaderboard profile — display name, level, and total XP — is visible to other signed-in Burnix users by default. An in-app control to make your profile private is not yet available; deleting your account removes your leaderboard profile.
- Challenges. Your challenge opponent can see your display name and your aggregate challenge scores. Your underlying workout, nutrition, and body-progress logs are never shared.
AI coach
When you use the AI coach, Burnix sends a request to Anthropic (the provider of the Claude AI model) containing only: your training goal, experience level, training style, equipment, an injury-limitations flag, body focus regions, streak weeks, workout counts, your last workout’s duration and difficulty/energy ratings, your average calories over the last seven days, your weight trend in kilograms, and the message you typed (up to 1,000 characters). Your user ID, name, email address, and gender presentation are never sent, and each request is single-turn — no conversation history is included.
Anthropic uses this input to generate the coaching response. Your message and the response are stored in your account’s coach history so you can read them again in the app.
Service providers
- Google Firebase. Authentication, database (Cloud Firestore), file storage, server functions, push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging; on iOS, delivery transits Apple’s push service), remote configuration, and the automatically initialized Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance Monitoring described above.
- Anthropic. Generates AI coach responses from the data listed in the “AI coach” section.
- Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In. Used only if you choose one of them to sign in.
Burnix contains no advertising SDKs and uses no other analytics, tracking, or marketing services.
How we use your data
- Providing and personalizing your training and nutrition features.
- Recording the progress you log — workouts, nutrition, and body measurements.
- Running the achievements, leaderboard, and challenges you take part in.
- Sending the notifications you have enabled — quiet hours hold marketing (“Offers”) pushes.
- Answering your support requests.
- Generating AI coach responses.
- Diagnosing crashes and performance issues.
Legal basis and jurisdiction
Burnix is operated by Nortiva from Ferizaj, Republic of Kosovo, and this policy is governed by the law of the Republic of Kosovo. We process the data described above only for the purposes listed in “How we use your data.”
If the law of your region gives you additional privacy rights — such as access, correction, or erasure — you can exercise them by emailing privacy@burnix.app. The Privacy Choices page lists the controls available in the app.
Retention and deletion
Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, everything listed on the Account Deletion page is permanently removed, including the sign-in account itself. You can delete your account in the app (Profile → Settings → Account & data → Delete account); the Account Deletion page explains all available paths.
Crash and analytics data collected by Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, and Performance Monitoring is retained under Google Firebase’s default retention settings.
Children
Burnix is not directed at children and contains no child-specific features.
